The Estes Park Arabian horse show celebrated its 70th anniversary on June 29th and July 1st. Sadly, this was also its final show. Over the span of its 70 years, This show holds so much historical significance for the Arabian horse breed. The first U.S. Arabian Horse Nationals were held in Estes Park in 1958. It was such an honor to be able to have participated in this show.
So, it was bittersweet. This is always such a fun show for us. The atmosphere is very laid back and everyone, from show management to fellow exhibitors, are encouraging and friendly. Being in gorgeous Estes Park doesn’t hurt, either!
Even the Starbucks was beautiful:)
Girlie and me
Cary and I both showed my mare, LA Just A Girl, aka Girlie. It was the first time she had been shown under saddle, so she had her moments, but it was still fun! She redeemed herself in the in-hand classes, she stood perfectly!
Charlotte and CaryWe were so proud to show the gorgeous Balquenaire Mac V, aka Charlotte. She is owned by our long-time friends, Jim and Lauri Grace, This was her first show ever and she rocked it! Everyone loved her and she was just the best baby:)
We even had some time to walk around a bit in downtown Estes Park. Of course we had to visit the Stanley Hotel – no ghosts this time!
